If you have lots of time to spare please mention the words fishing and football to Jose, grab a seat and get that shot of espresso ready. On a hot day in the middle of autumn, after quickly mentioning the weather, that’s how we started our engagement session with Yumi and Jose in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. Jose and Yumi were a perfect couple for us because not only they were our friends (Tae has known Yumi for more than 10 years!), they wanted their session to truly not be a session. When Yumi wrote us couple of days before asking regarding the location for the shoot, we mentioned that the location was the last thing that mattered, we assured that we were not going to use Disney Hall or Santa Monica Pier, and that was the end of our discussion.
While exchanging stories about our lives, and talking about their plans for the wedding we were able to capture some intimate moments with this couple that hardly show ANY affection in public. One day before I told Jose to make the day of the session special, since both are so busy, we convinced them to disconnect from pending chores from their routine, and guess what happened? We ended up watching “Chopped” in their living room, almost forgetting about our session. We couldn’t be any more disconnected and relaxed, so here are some pictures from their “engagement session”
Yumi and Jose we are truly thankful for letting us in into your lives. For us it is an inspiration to see you both always laughing and having a good time. Thank you for hosting us in Los Angeles, and showing around your neighborhood. We can’t stop talking about how good that sushi was. That and you made the afternoon just too perfect.
See you in November in your wedding!
