We haven't come out of the closet officially yet, but if you follow us you probably know we are flirting and falling in love with film photography (eventually we would like to shoot most of our stuff on film). It was a little difficult at first, but slowly we are finding out voice through film. So the big question nowadays is Why shoot film ? For us it is personal, there is something perfect about the imperfection of shooting film. Through film photography we learned that not every image needs to be perfect, nevertheless we just love the color film produce. These days there are many software that try to emulate film, but the fact is there nothing like film. Film made us fall in love with photography again, that shutter sound, the process of loading film into your camera, and the tangible process just feels more intimate, making us shoot more with our hearts.
We could go on and on speaking about film photography and it is not about if digital or film is better, for us simply our hearts smile when we shoot film. We've been shooting a lot of personal work with film lately, and currently we are traveling with lots of 35mm film capturing our journey. This is the first post with some of the work we've been producing, we definitely will start posting more regarding this. Below is a styled shoot we collaborated with other incredible photographers and a team of designers. We loved the moody and grainy feel that came out of this session.
All images below were shot with Contax 645 and Kodak Portra 800. Hope you enjoy !
